How did the idea for Serenissima Tour come about, and what led to the promotion of Venice boat tours?
Serenissima Tour is more than just an online portal offering Venice boat tours, it’s a testament to the eternal spirit of Venice. Born in March 2023, we reimagined the way we connect with the enchanting beauty of Venice, leveraging technology and infusing life into a service that has stood the test of time. It stems from the necessity for innovation, seeking to revolutionize a service within the tourism sector that has been in existence for a century. Since 1924, Serenissima Motoscafi srl, the founding company behind the Serenissima Tour brand, has been organizing transport services, transfers, and rentals for both private and corporate events.
As a Project Manager in Marketing and Communication, what is your goal?
We have a strong desire to bridge the rich Venetian heritage with the modern era, the journey from tradition to providing cutting-edge and inspirational experiences. Our goal is to create Venice boat tours that not only captivate but resonate with the digital-savvy travellers.
Can you describe Serenissima Tour in three words?
Serenissima Tour is digital, practical, and simple. We’re not just a travel companion; we’re your portal to a seamless, enriching digital exploration. Simplicity is our language—one rooted in the humble, welcoming tradition of Venice boat tours.
What are the values and mission behind Serenissima Tour?
Serenissima Tour embodies resilience, simplicity, and the freedom to explore. In the past, surviving two wars and countless historical shifts, our mission for over a century has been to bring people together. Now we would like to do the same with our Venice boat tours, offering a taste of Venetian beauty without constraints.
Could you share the inspiration behind the brand name Serenissima Tour and the significance of its iconography?
Serenissima, echoing the historical title of the Venetian Republic, is combined with “Tour” for ease of search. Our iconic imagery, crafted by a talented professional from the Academy of Venice, takes on the colours and architecture of the Serenissima Republic. The iconic ‘S’ and ‘T’ show the lion and the Doge’s Palace, playing on the vibrant palette of Venice.
How do you organize Venice boat tours, and can you share an example?
Serenissima Tour operates through the travel agency Serevè, offering boat tours and city tours in Venice. Our tours are designed to provide a mix of historical insights and free time, allowing tourists to explore Venice and the islands at their own pace.
One of our most popular excursions is the half-day tour to two islands in the morning and afternoon. These tours allow tourists to engage for only half a day, giving them the flexibility to organize other activities and fully enjoy their day. The morning tour, starting at 10:00, allows for a return at 2:15, leaving the afternoon free. The 2:30 pm tour not only provides morning freedom but also returns to San Marco with Serenissima Motoscafi at sunset, offering a unique experience—a boat ride with a view of San Marco at sunset.
How do you address modern challenges, and how do you envision Serenissima Tour in 5 years? What do you think the future holds?
The challenge of the digital era demands constant updates and the ability to identify efficient partners. We’re navigating this shift with a commitment to enhancing the digital experience, making it as enriching as the physical journey itself.
In the spirit of growth, we envision expanding our fleet and creating new tours catering to niche tourism experiences. The future holds endless possibilities, and we’re excited to continue being the bridge between tradition and innovation in the Venetian exploration.
